Treatment for Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia
New Perspectives Program is a Partial Hospitalization/Intensive Outpatient Program designed to help seniors and older adults suffering from depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or anxiety. The program teaches coping skills to manage their symptoms on an on-going basis. Deaconess Hospital's New Perspectives patients participate in groups as well as one-on-one sessions Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., returning home in the evenings.
Deaconess Hospital's New Perspective group therapy focuses on recovery from depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or anxiety. Therapy, determined by an initial assessment, is led by a multidisciplinary team supervised by one of our specialized older adult psychiatrists. The team includes a certified psychiatric nurse, clinical social workers and other mental health professionals. The comprehensive team approach ensures that all clinical and psycho-social needs from those suffering from depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or anxiety are met. Medication management, symptom management, and relapse prevention are some of the goals of the program.
Each New Perspectives patient receives an individualized discharge plan that includes follow-up aftercare to ensure continued success. Transportation is available within a limited service area and most insurance plans are accepted.
